The Brief(ish) History of Adrennec

Hey guys, it's Jacob/Adrennec! You know, I feel like there is so much to this character that he deserves a blog. Not some youtube channel! That's not my ticket into being a popufur! I think  I don't even really want to be a popufur, but if I become one, I'll gladly take the full package that comes with it!

Let's warm up next to a fire, shall we? Time to hear a history lesson! Look, I know the post is long, but I like writing long stuff and making it enjoyable. If I wanted to be a bore, I would have linked you to a philosophy or actual history reading. I'm only tackling Adrennec's sort of history here. I will probably someday make a larger entry to bore you out. Nothing to see down here.

First of all, how did I even afford Adrennec? I got a job at the greatest theme park on earth. (Cedar Point. Because adrenaline simply shouldn't come from Disney.) They gave me shifts of 60 hours a week, and only one day off each week (which I used wisely by binge riding Maverick). I earned $8.50 an hour, and I would only have to pay about $90 each week for employee dormitory and necessities. The rest would go to Uncle Sam and my bank account (I tithe my God, my government, and the waitstaff). I went and earned money. I earned $6k in one summer.

Hell, I didn't even realize I was a furry till about August 1st, 2016, or sometime around then. I wanted to be a fursuiter in this fandom so badly. I had two mascot costumes/store-boughts at home. There is no way in **** I would be caught wearing one to Anthrocon. (Any censored 4 letter word works as far as I am concerned!) I will definitely be making a post involving off the shelf costumes later! Anyhow, where did I go?

The budget. As much as I wanted to be a fursuiter, I wanted to make it to Anthrocon next year. I actually had enough to do both, but I had to make sure I was not going to just overspend. I had plenty. I could afford everything I wanted to do at Anthrocon and still not go bankrupt. But I was sadly unable to commission a fursuit with my budget. (I sorta spent my money on a new television, an original X1, the  X1s, and the PS4. I learned to control myself next summer so I could have even more money.) Now, after the budget was made, where would I look for a fursuit? (Remember, I could not commission one.)

I struck gold with Adrennec. Or should I say Ashpyre? Hmm... Sticking with Ashpyre.

Simply put, it's a charming fursuit. It was a steal for $500. There is absolutely no way I will find this value again (unless someone has a time machine that I can use). Since the owner was a fursuit maker, they helped me out with the resizing and even a new head. Did I mention the head was thrown in for free? Because it was for free. Seriously, fursuit heads costs like $500. So for them to give me all this, I am seriously grateful. I wish I could have met my maker at Anthrocon so I could have given them my biggest possible hug (Even bigger than the ones I give when I cuddle). Yeah, I would have been happy to keep Ashpyre as she was, but the maker probably wanted to keep her sona as her property. Besides, it gave me a chance to get the creative juices flowing!

I could go into the details of how I decided on Adrennec's stuff, but let me point out the things I like about him.

  • Muscles
  • Cute tuft
  • Arabian feel
  • Handsome and Laid Back
  • Has taste in clothing (Ok, not with the sweatpants, but at least with his t-shirt)

Anyhow, I got Adrennec in the mail, and could not have been more anxious (a mother who was pissed about her son owning 2 mascot costumes certainly would not like seeing a third). "It's the last one" (yeah right). I at least had a proper fursuit for Anthrocon.  I got a ref sheet drawn right afterward.
The Slater shirt from Archer!
I developed Adrennec mostly when I was waiting for the fursuit. First of all, where did his name come from? (Adrenaline + Fennec = Adrennec) How about a backstory? He is a vigilante who loves parkour. I'm not sure what else to say about him. Ask some questions in the comments (Make sure you specify you are asking about the Fennec.)!

I got slightly bored of him as a fennec, and I changed him into a wolf. By default, I only use him as a wolf. The fennec carnation is only by request because I use him as an adult character. His story sort of changes as well. Basically, he is a vault hunting wolf (come on Borderlands, can we have an anthro character soon)! He has a few design changes as well, like highlighted hair, a sort of muscular look, paws and claws, and a different "tail" area.
Sorry Ladies, he's gay!

I am currently waiting on his wolf bodysuit. His head works well enough as a canid for now. I do want to get a wolf head before Anthrocon comes along, but if I keep his jaw shut, he actually looks like a canid. Currently, his body and tail are finished, but there are a few more things to do.

Anyhow, this is the first post! I am not sure what else to write about! But I will try to make one post each week and make it something fun or at least relatable.

And now for a shameless request from the author:

I hope you enjoyed what you just read. I enjoyed typing it. I do however ask for your help! This blog is run by a college student who only works in the summer! If you could do me a solid and donate, that would be awesome! I personally prefer Paypal, but anything can work!Any amount helps! If you can't donate, that's cool with me. I would also really like it if you passed this blog around! I am still on Facebook (and occassionally Twitter)! For those who offer free art, I will feature one free art piece on each post and link to your Furaffinity! It makes both of us look good! Anyhow, back to the money!

What would I use the money for?
I am personally looking to invest in a new fursuit head for Adrennec!

It would feature:
Light up eyes
Room to accommodate glasses
Follow-Me Eyes
Movable Jaw
Better Wolf Face

Thanks for reading and thank you to those who contributed to the blog. (No one contributed yet. 😿 You have a chance to be among the first!)
